OLIVIA

“Tell me everything,” Lucy said, taking my arm and leading me down the hallway.

I’d been with Wulf the past two days and she knew her way around better than I did. All I knew the way around was Wulf’s body.

“You want to know everything?” I asked her.

She waved to a guy as if they were BFFs, then replied. “No. But I can tell by the look on your face and the fact I haven’t seen you for forty-eight hours that you’ve been very thoroughly claimed.”

I blushed. I couldn’t help it, even though I should be immune after all the things Wulf had done to me. And I’d done to him.

“We expected the kids to be brought back,” I countered. “Interrupting us.”

“Rachel doesn’t plan on giving Emma back to you until she has a little girl of her own.”

I looked at Lucy to see if she was joking.

“Tanner’s pretty much moved in with Wyatt.”

She glanced at me, then stopped. “Sweetie, they love you and you’re their mom. I was just joking. They miss you, but they are having fun with new people. All I’m getting at is that they love it here.”

That made me feel better, although a bunch of leg hugs from my two little peeps would be best.

“Where are you taking me, anyway?” I asked.

Wulf had been called on some hidden intercom-thing and requested at the governor’s office. He didn’t seem worried and since I’d met the guy when we first transported, I wasn’t concerned. Everyone seemed really nice, but Lucy knew better than me.

“Rachel’s. A girl’s night.”

“What about the kids?”

She gave a little shrug. “They’re already asleep. I checked on them.” She tugged me back down the hall again. “Come on. You’ll see them in the morning. We’ll have fun with Rachel and Lindsey and the others who are dying to meet you, then you’ll have more hot beast sex, and then the kids wake you up early. Just like at home.”

She bit her lip.

“I mean, this is home now.”

I cocked my head. “You like it here?” I was worried she wouldn’t want to come, but she’d jumped at it. Or that now that she was here, she’d be homesick.

Her face lit up. “It’s awesome. The women here don’t need their makeup done so that’s a problem, but you forget I used to do hair. I can transport all around the galaxy for hairstyling. You and me both.”

My mouth fell open. I was a licensed hairstylist as well, but we’d focused our work on makeup most recently. Her idea though…

“Traveling hair stylists? Are you serious?” I asked, my words slow as I processed the idea.

She shrugged, then grinned. “Who knows? It’s not a bad business model. It’s not like there’s competition.”

“What about a guy? It’s not like you’re going to be lacking for attention around here,” I commented. Every single person… alien we passed eyed Lucy as if she were the most intriguing thing on the planet. Maybe she was. I had cuffs. I was off limits. But Lucy, she was a free agent, in sports contract terms. She was available to any guy who won her heart.

She shrugged. “Rachel said I should be tested. I think she’s right. I can request The Colony so that I can stay here. Or maybe I’ll date.”

I laughed at that, thinking of Wulf. “Date? I don’t think these guys date.

She shrugged again. “Well, who knows? Maybe I’ll have my own love story.”

With that, she led me down the hall once more. I had my love story. Maybe it was time for her to have her own. Mine was crazy enough. I had no doubt hers would be insane.
